Part of Kai Hao's adventure in A Bug's Life, Nonsense
I have been using Digi for years.
Recently, just before I came back to Kuching, a group of red coloured boys and girls came to my cafeteria while I was having my lunch. They were from Hotlink. Well, I always rejected their offer for a few times when I was walking here and there looking for my food.
When I sat down and having my lunch as well, one red girl approached me and asked me whether I heard of the Youth Club from Hotlink or not. I rejected unhappilly because it was rude interrupting me while I was having my meal. But she kept explaining the plan and pushed me a brochure.
I saw calling rate of 0.12 sen per minute call to own operator. 0.15 sen per minute call to other networks. Wtf? So cheap? I put down my fork and spoon and asked for details and this girl earned my commission when I paid RM8.80 for a starter pack.
Now, the things happen here.
First, I don’t like to use too many phones. I am already a Digi user and you want me to take another phone to put on Maxis. I hate that. Not because I can’t handle to answer too many calls. It’s very inconvenience for me to carry 2 phones at a time.
Second. I need to inform all my friends that I have changed my number and I think it’s very ridiculous for me to do so. My Digi number has been registered under a lot of departments, not only friends but also a lot of networks from many places and in case they want to find me. Yes, I know I can switch my Digi number to Hotlink plan and I can’t just let go of Digi because of its mobile WLM (Windows Live Messenger), which is damn useful for me.
Third. The call rates between these 2 plans are a lot different. Hotlink Youth Club has the cheapest calling rate and I wish to use it. A lot of people know my Digi number but they do not know my Maxis number. Most important, I still like my Digi number because it’s simple and easier to memorise.
Oh damn. What should I do? So troublesome right? That’s the fact. Why they don’t merge together?
